Industries We Serve

Approximately 70% of the customers that use systems developed by HIMACS are in the financial sector, while the remaining 30% are in non-financial industries. Systems in all of these industries play important roles as social infrastructure. Because system failures could have a significant impact on society, we are required to maintain a high level of technical expertise and operational know-how. Since our founding, HIMACS has expanded its business with a primary focus on systems for the financial sector, where particularly high reliability is required.

Strengths in Each Industry

Banking

Banking systems serve as critical social infrastructure, making reliability and security paramount. Since entering the banking systems field in 1978, HIMACS has accumulated extensive expertise in banking operations and business processes.

Today, our principal customers include major banks, trust banks, regional banks, and online banks. We mainly develop lending systems, market systems, information systems, and connectivity systems. In particular, we have extensive experience and a proven track record in market systems, including derivatives-related systems and financial exchange-related systems, as well as stock transfer agency systems for trust banks.

Securities

Since entering the securities systems field in 1979, HIMACS has built extensive experience and a proven track record across all areas of system development, including front-office operations such as order and execution management, back-office operations, investment trust administration, and online trading systems. We have also expanded our business scope to include the development of highly stable trading systems for online securities firms.

Insurance

In the life insurance sector, since entering the field of systems for life insurance companies in 1991, HIMACS has accumulated business know-how across nearly all operational areas. These include core systems such as new business systems, as well as policy maintenance, premium collection, and claims payment systems after new policy issuance. We have also developed expertise in increasingly diverse insurance sales systems, including online insurance services and bancassurance.

In the non-life insurance sector, since entering the field of systems for non-life insurance companies in 1979, we have gained extensive experience and built a proven track record in core business systems, including policy administration and claims investigation, as well as in systems supporting insurance agencies and online insurance sales.

Credit

Since entering the field of systems for a major domestic credit card company in 1993, HIMACS has expanded its business scope to include consumer finance companies and e-commerce-related companies. In particular, we have extensive experience and a proven track record in key business systems for cardholders and merchants, which play a role in card business strategies, as well as fraud detection systems.

Public Sector

Since entering the public sector shortly after its founding in 1976, HIMACS has been involved in the development of a wide range of public-sector systems. For central government agencies, we have participated in the development of systems supporting functions such as electronic application services. We also have extensive experience and a proven track record in system development for the aviation industry, including airport systems and domestic passenger systems that support safe, comfortable air travel. In addition, we have developed systems for local governments and public-interest enterprises, such as railway operators and electric power companies.

Retail and Distribution

Since entering the field of systems for retail and distribution companies in 1983, HIMACS has been involved in system development for a wide range of retail and distribution businesses, including major supermarket groups in Japan, convenience store chains, and consumer cooperatives. In particular, we have extensive experience and a proven track record in store systems and headquarters systems, covering areas such as merchandise and sales planning, customer management, sales support, and catalog sales.
